General care for stainless steel sink surfaces. Follow the confirmed instructions for the specific product, coating and accessories.
01 · Procurement
- Record the model, material, finish and intended environment with the agreed order specification and product drawings.
- Confirm separate care requirements for coatings, special finishes and electrical accessories.
02 · Construction & Installation
- Where practical, install after contaminating work. Protect surfaces from cement, iron particles and welding spatter.
- Avoid impacts and dragging. Flush debris from supply pipes before use; keep construction waste and chemicals out of the sink.
03 · Inspection & Handover
- Inspect the finish, fixings and drainage before handover; record defects. Rinse and dry after cleaning.
- Give installers and facility cleaning teams the model list, approved drawings, material documents and this guide. Agree cleaning products and inspection arrangements.
04 · Routine Cleaning
- Use a soft cloth or non-scratching sponge with a compatible mild detergent. Follow the grain on brushed finishes, then rinse and dry.
- Remove salt, food and cleaning residues promptly. Set cleaning intervals for the actual use and exposure.
05 · Methods to Avoid
- Avoid steel wool, carbon-steel brushes, abrasive powders, strong-acid mortar removers and chlorine bleach.
- Do not leave rust-prone iron tools on wet surfaces or cut directly on the sink.
06 · Deposits & Stains
- Deposits, iron contamination or corrosion may cause stains; appearance alone does not identify the cause. Photograph the area and record the model, environment and cleaners used.
- Start gently. Ask for finish-specific guidance if marks remain. Follow specialist product instructions and test on a small concealed area.
07 · Material & Magnetism
- Some stainless grades are magnetic. Cold forming can also introduce local magnetism in austenitic stainless steel.
- A magnet alone cannot establish grade or quality. Check material documentation and arrange appropriate testing when required.
